For Carl Gustav Jung

He fathered the analytical perspective
And propounded the idea of a collective
Unconscious, made a fuss
About anima and animus
And declared archetypes as a projective!

As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.
Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections", 1962

Carl Jung, the father of analytical psychology, was born on this date in 1875.

If Carl Jung was alive today,
What would he have to say
Of Saddam Hussain or Osama -
    Animus, anima or simply enigma?!
Surely they'd cause him utter dismay!
