Word defined: Daub

I must say this painting is quaint.

A masterpiece — that it sure ain't.

The artist, one judges,

From seeing the smudges,

Just daubed a blank canvas with paint.

Word defined: akhara

In Benaras, to keep fit and trim,

You could easily go for a swim.

Or, to exercise, there's

An akhara, downstairs,

What's an akhara? Sort of a gym!

In Northern India, a popular definition of an akhara is that it is a place for exercise and body-building. Traditionally, young men joined these akharas to practice wrestling . One can say that it is the traditional Indian version of a gym.

Word defined: Chair car

By the railroad my dear, if you are,

Making grand plans to travel afar,

I'll pay extra fare,

And book you a chair,

In a chair car and say, "au revoir!"

Word Defined: Celeron

When Intel decided to tend
The processor market, low-end,
The Celeron chip,
Was used to equip,
Those CPUs one-third the spend!


Note: The first Celeron, based on the PII core, cost about 1/3rd the price of PII

OR

When Intel thought they should devise
A processor, easy on price,
They launched a rehash
Of PII, (sans cache),
As Celeron - it did suffice!
