Future planning!

The funeral for Maggie, said Blair
Must be truly a memorable affair
Though the Lady isn’t dead
Let’s start planning ahead
So we can bid her adieu with fanfare!

Daily Express 05/06/06: Plans for a State funeral tribute to Lady Thatcher are being drawn up by the Blair Government. She would be the first commoner to receive such an honour since Winston Churchill in 1965. Such treatment is usually reserved for royalty. While Lady Thatcher, 80, is said to be frail after minor strokes and the death of her husband Sir Denis, there is no suggestion she is suffering any life-threatening condition. But one report says civil servants in the Cabinet Office have been working for months on details of a funeral for Britain’s first woman Prime Minister.

Guardian has more to say.
