The aviator

There was once a man named Steve
Who planned to set out, I believe
Of his own accord
To create a new record
Which, by flying 27k miles, he hopes to achieve!

For the moment though, he’s facing a delay
For some glitches have come into play.
A tail wind that’s bleak
Plus a fuel tank leak
Have both prevented him from taking off today!

Adventurer Steve Fossett has postponed his three-day non-stop flight around the world because of mechanical problems and poor wind conditions. Get the story here & here

#Update:11/02/06

Well guess what? To everyone’s delight
He completed the longest non-stop flight
And proved that 61years
Need not stop you my dears
From adventure, so go ahead, you’ve every right!

ABC News: Manston, England Feb 11, 2006 (AP)— Adventurer Steve Fossett completed the longest nonstop flight in aviation history with an emergency landing Saturday, flying 26,389 miles in about 76 hours but stopping early because of mechanical problems. Read about it here
